Ruger is currently ranting . Have you ever wondered why Kizz Daniel changed his name from Kiss Daniel after leaving G World wide ?
Have you ever wondered why Cynthia Morgan , Rhythmz lost their names after leaving a record label ? It all boils down to the kind of record deal you sign .
You will always hear that this label is bad, this label is good. Our Artistes before going in for those deals they know it. Sometimes we the Fans Cry more than the Artistes. Once an Artiste Quits the label we don’t even Care to know the Kind of Contract they Sign but we just go ahead and criticize the label . Our Artistes knew it but they are always hungry and Desperate.
50/50 Record Deal. This kind of Deal is more of a Joint Venture. It can be signed between an Artiste and a Record label or between two Record labels. What You should know about this kind of Contract is that it is signed only with Artistes who are making Waves. Reason You will Kocee can sign in with Empire or Kizz Daniel sign in with Empire . Like we said it Can be signed between two record labels too . You can’t be an Upcoming Artiste and Sign a 50/50 deal nope. With this type of Contract, the Profits are shared Equally
360 Record Deals. With this kind of deal, the record label takes a share in all the income the Artiste makes from Streams.
They build up and Artiste through their recordings till the Artiste reach a point where the sources of revenue like Performing and Merchandise increase as a result of this. Hence the record labels feels entitled to everything from streams to performance and Everything.
The thing is 360 deals are not good for everyone. Record labels created this to make more money from Artistes. Many Artistes have an issue with it. This is the kind of deals many of our Artistes sign and regret later. Kizz Daniel had this deal with G world Wide reasons he lost even his name when he left . Ruger had same deal and now he is crying .
Single Record Deal. In this kind of Deal a label is involve in the production and release of a single song. The idea behind is that Labels don’t want to fully invest on an Artiste who is still unproved. By releasing a Single song, The label can have an idea about how successful the Artiste can be before fully investing in the Artiste. This is what Daicko signed with motherland Empire of Stanley Enow . They surly couldn’t spend more to invest on him given the reaction gotten from his first single. Remember Record labels are out to make money.
Production Deal : A production deal is not a Record deal because it doesn’t include the distribution of Your Recordings instead it is offered by a Production company solely for the Production and Recording of your songs. A production deal is a good step in getting a Record deal. If Your Recordings turn out to be very good, You can easily get a Record Deal
Distribution Deal : This is actually one of the best record deals , you own the rights to projects while a particular company markets it for you and get a particular percentage. Imagine a talented artiste like Salatiel and Kocee having a distribution deal with Empire , he will become one of the biggest artiste in Africa in no time .
Asake and Kizz Daniel all have distribution deals with EMPIRE .Seyi Vibes and Shallipopi have distribution deals with DAPPER MUSIC
It is important to know these things before getting into any record deal .Know the deal you are SIGNING , read the terms .

He’s Cursed; A Foundation Built On Fr@ud Never Stands”–Sky B’s Former Producer Explains Why Arstiste Can Never Rise Again In Music
“So many people do not know Sky B and I (X-B) were musical groupies like Style-Plus and Ajebo Hustlers.
“Nigerians and the world felt Sky B was the one who did the solo and rap in all his songs, but many Port Harcourt artistes who knew me and him together just saw him as an impostor trying to mimic my role in his songs.
“I come from Akwa Ibom and I was his tenant living in a one room apartment in his father’s compound in Port Harcourt.
“We recorded all songs together in the pray for me Album. If you listen carefully you will hear my name in almost all the intros.
“I took the chorus of “My Baby” the hit song and the solo part.
“We have recorded everything together and were hustling to get it wasked (the normal way of launching an album way back)
“Sky B sold a piece of his father’s land and launched the music alone. It happened that someone who knows us as partners called me on the very day he was doing the album launch, asking me why I am not there with my man to celebrate our music.
“I instantly burst into tears realising that I have been betrayed and stabbed from the back.
“I was just a poor boy who is his tenant living in his house, every effort to reach him proved abortive as Sky B gave me a notice to leave his father’s house.
“I left him to God to fight my battle and as you can see, it ended up in shame.
“Sky B betrayed me, that betrayal lives on with him.
“Imagine Lucky Udu even trying to help him get back, created a Facebook page for him and he uses the Facebook page as collateral to take cr#ck on loan, who does that?
“A foundation built on fraud never stands, look at his life and see how it has ended.”

ANGEL UNIGWE TO SUE KANAYO GIVES HER SIDE OF THE STORY
Kanayo O. Kanayo recently expressed his frustration regarding Angel Unigwe and her mother. In a video he posted online, the veteran actor alleged that Angel, with her mother’s support, breached their contract by prematurely leaving his set.
Responding to these allegations, Angel Unigwe’s mother strongly denied the accusations and defamatory statements made by Mr. Kanayo in his video. She stressed their firm adherence to contractual terms and their dedication to honoring all legal commitments.
Angel Unigwe’s mother provided a detailed account of events from June 17th to June 19th, 2024, during which Angel was engaged in Kanayo’s film project with clear agreements, specifically finishing filming by 9 pm each day. Despite their initial concerns about filming fifty-seven scenes in three days, they agreed to proceed based on assurances from Mr. Kanayo O. Kanayo and his director.
On the final day, filming extended beyond 9 pm by an additional 45-50 minutes, which they accommodated as a gesture of goodwill. She emphasized that they left the location after fulfilling their obligations, without any objections from the director or production manager.
Her statement:
“As a background to the events that led to this, between the 17th of June 2024 and the 19th of June 2024, Miss Unigwe participated in a film project under clear and agreed terms, most important of all being a daily wrap time of 9 pm. Despite our concerns about the feasibility of filming fifty-seven (57) scenes in three (3) days, we proceeded based on the assurances we received from Mr. Kanayo O. Kanayo and his director, in person of Ndifreke Matthew, that the three days period will be sufficient for shooting and that the talent’s shooting time of 12 hours starting from 9 am to 9 pm is acceptable to them, moreso there will be no extension considering her prior engagement. On the final day, despite the agreed terms regarding wrap up time of 9 pm, we accommodated an additional 45-50 minutes of filming beyond the agreed time, which was done out of the spirit of goodwill and understanding that had existed between us, Mr. Kanayo and the film Director. Upon completion of the shoot, we left the location without protest from the director or the production Manager Mr. Cosmos Nwaihe, having performed our obligations.”
Mrs. Unigwe was deeply shocked upon learning of the accusations made by Mr. Kanayo in his video. She shared the emotional distress caused by what she perceived as threats against her daughter, Angel Unigwe. She condemned these actions as cyberbullying and gender-based harassment, particularly hurtful given her long-standing respect for Kanayo.
Juliet Unigwe concluded her heartfelt statement by announcing their intention to seek legal action to ensure accountability and justice in this matter, asserting their refusal to be intimidated. She called on relevant security agencies and organizations to protect Miss Unigwe and herself from any potential hostility from Kanayo.
