A Zambian  preacher and businessman who had gone into hiding after allegedly defrauding Zambian ,Malawaian, Zimbabwean and South African job seekers of millions of Kwacha was nabbed on Saturday morning.

The preacher, through his company, headquartered in Ndola , Zambia is accused of swindling money from desperate job seekers by promising job opportunities abroad.

The agency is reported to have  defrauded more than 8,000 job seekers of their cash. The victims are said to have paid K 5,000 each to the agency which is said to have obtained more that 4 million from unsuspecting job seekers.

One of the victims said that she borrowed Sh. 100,000 to pay the firm for supposed overseas job  and Investment opportunities.

“They said there were so many jobs in Canada including for IT person. I borrowed K 100,000 to pay them and up until now I have never been taken to Canada.” She said.

She said that the agency has been holding the money since October last  year yet they never processed his work Visa application as they had claimed.

The victim said she was lured by the agency’s information that the firm claimed to have connected over 3,000 people with jobs abroad and helped over 260 people in securing visas for travel abroad.

She sad after she learnt that the agency was running a scheme to dupe her, she resorted to sought services of the famous native traditional herbalist Nga’nga Mawanda Shafiq who has in the past years taken over the internet for his prowess of recovering lost money and property to unsuspecting people.

An illiterate man who lost his land to a politician, who tricked him to thumb print a sale agreement, has repossessed his land 9 years later.

Michelo Rashid   lost 4.8 acres of land on June 18, 2015, after he was duped into thumb printing the fake agreement written in Nyanja language.

Since then, he has been embroiled in a protracted battle to repossess his land from the politician whom he claimed conned him.

Interestingly, the politician was the first one to claim ownership of the contentious parcel of land, claiming he had legitimately bought it in 2015.

He said he had paid Michelo 1.2million Zambian kwacha in total for the purchase, in accordance with the vernacular sale agreement that the two had allegedly endorsed in 2015.

The politician settled on the contentious land almost immediately and even planted crops, before validating the occupation in 2017.

In protest, Michelo Rashid expelled the politician from the property arguing that, “The politician had unlawfully occupied his property for several years without his consent.”

Michelo Rashid  said since he did not have funds to file a legal suit against the politician, he resorted to seeking a native traditional herbalist to reclaim his genuine property.
