Alleged Defilement of Mental Patient Shocks Community, As is Suspect on the Run
In a disturbing incident that has rocked the community of Chibolya B Compound in Itezhi-Tezhi District, a 20-year-old mental patient has allegedly been defiled by a man known only as Collins, believed to be between the ages of 45 and 55. The Southern Province Commissioner of Police, Auxensio Daka, has shed light on the incident, which reportedly occurred on March 25, 2024, and was reported to authorities the following day by the victim’s mother.
According to Commissioner Daka, the victim was discovered missing from her home around 19:00 hours on the fateful day. Despite relatives’ efforts to locate her, she could not be found until the following morning when she returned home around 06:00 hours. Upon questioning by her mother, the victim disclosed that she had spent the night with Collins on the same bed.
The revelation of the alleged defilement has sent shockwaves through the community, raising concerns about the safety and protection of vulnerable individuals, particularly those with mental health conditions.
