Leo Mezie, born Leonard Chimezie Onyemachi on January 25, 1976, was a remarkable actor in the Nigerian film industry, affectionately known as Nollywood

His journey began in 1996 when he actively participated in film auditions, initially securing small roles. However, it was in 2003 that his star truly ascended, capturing global attention and accolades for his outstanding performance in the critically acclaimed Nollywood movie, “Labista.” In this memorable film, Leo Mezie shared the screen with renowned actors such as Emma Ehumadu, Jerry Amilo, and the late Ernest Asuzu. His portrayal of a skilled fighter seeking vengeance for the murdér of his considered family left an indelible mark on audiences.

Beyond his on-screen talent, Leo Mezie was known for his humble demeanor and striking handsomeness. His versatility as an actor allowed him to collaborate with other Nollywood luminaries, including Jerry Williams, Gentle Jack, Zack Orji, and Chidi Mokeme. His extensive filmography includes titles like “Full Wrestle,” “No Man’s Land,” “Coronary Heart of an Enslaved Person,” “Shut Enemy,” “King’s Sleepless Night,” and more. Unfortunately, Leo Mezie faced health challenges, enduring a kidney transplant.
